It's project week and high school teacher Rainer Wenger was assigned "forms of state" and decides to start a project in his class designed to understand how a dictatorship works. What starts innocently enough with definitions of peer pressure and discipline soon evolves into a serious movement named: Die Welle [the Wave]. It's no sooner than the third day that students start excluding those who think differently from the group. And one after the other conflict escalates.
