After years of having been in prison, it's imperative for Jack to take on a new identity.
As long as his last identity is not discovered, the future looks bright, what with a new name, a new look and a new place to live. At first Jack is hesitant, insecure and sensitive. His apparent shyness is an excellent disguise for that which the outside world mustn't get to know. Slowly but surely he crawls out of his hiding space and his self-confidence grows. Jack's new life is alternated with fragments from his past and as the film progresses it becomes clear what the cause of his change in identity was.
