MOVIES
We can be heroes, just for three days …
Back in the 60s, Andy Warhol predicted that everybody would have their fifteen minutes of fame via film and television. This has come true due to the influence of new media and the availability of it. Everybody can play a part in their own film. You choose the role you play. Everybody can be a hero!
But what makes us a hero?
When a soldier gets posted to Uruzgan and risks his life to fight for peace in a strange country …
When you stick to your principles, in spite of peer pressure …
When you start anew, despite your past …
Or simply when you put on a super hero-outfit …
Everybody has their own ideas of what constitutes as a real hero. But isn’t the hero sometimes the one you least expect? At IJFD, we see different aspects of heroism. You decide which character traits a hero ought to have, and you can be the hero during one of our workshops.
